Example Connection to bendTel Web server with FileZilla.

FileZilla is a full-featured file transfer client that supports multiple protocols.
Below are some example configurations for using FileZilla to connect to BendTel web hosting servers.

When you first launch FileZilla, click the Site Manager button to create a profile for your web site

The following screenshots show the settings needed for FTP, FTPS, and SFTP connections. www.bendtel.net is used as an example domain name; substitute your own profile name and hostname.

For traditional, unsecured FTP, just select FTP from the Server Type menu. Use your web hostname (www.yourdomain, ftp.yourdomain, etc...) as the "Host" as well as the username and password you chose for your account in the USer and Password fields.

Using FTPS (FTP over TLS/SSL) is very similar, but you must select FTPES from the Server Type menu and accept the certificate when asked.

You should be presented with a certificate that looks like the following. Accept it, and you should not be asked for it again (if you check the box to Always Trust the certificate in the future).

Connecting with SFTP is just as easy, but you must specify the port number 20022. Set the Server Type to SFTP.
